Meet Guild Member Adventure Accessories
Sarah joined us as a Guild Member at the Professional Crafters Guild in January 2019 and is a much valued part of our community.
I took voluntary redundancy to care full time for my youngest son when he was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive cancer in 2016 aged 14. My crafts and love for the outdoors were and still are part of my therapy after I had a breakdown in 2017. I created my small business as an opportunity to work flexibly around my son’s care needs and ongoing treatment since he relapsed in Sept 2017.
My biz name came from when my hubby and I ran an outdoors blog that had an online shop selling camping and hiking equipment. When I had the idea to add my handmade products to the store as a side-hustle we naturally called my items, Adventure Accessories and the name stuck when I made the decision to go fulltime with my handmade business.
I never dreamed that I might one day be selling my crafts. If you had told me I would be self-employed I would have laughed out loud but it is great that we can adapt to our ever-changing needs.
