Do you use CE Marking for your products?
If this is the case then you may need to register for the new UKCA Mark which comes into force on the 1st January 2022. The information that I have been reading suggests that you will need to do this if your product:
- is for the market in Great Britain
- is covered by legislation which requires the UKCA marking
- requires mandatory third-party conformity assessment
- conformity assessment has been carried out by a UK conformity assessment body
You can find full information here Using the UKCA marking – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
If you are selling your products to the EU you will also still need the CE Mark.
I also know that lots of us are concerned about the upcoming IOSS regulations. It looks like Etsy sellers are fairly well covered for it although you will need to add a unique number supplied by Etsy to EU sales. With regard to the rest of us the information isn’t very clear so I have emailed my accountant who will hopefully get back to me with something easier to understand. (We can hope!)
